The Absolute Best of Tulsa just got better as Urban Tulsa Weekly has expanded the annual award program to include the Absolute Best Music Awards. For 18 years, Urban Tulsa Weekly has asked its readers to determine Tulsa’s Absolute Best in everything from heroes to hang-outs. The annual ABoT awards are a much-anticipated event for Tulsa citizens. This year, UTW has expanded ABoT by increasing the music categories to offer greater coverage of the vibrant local scene and the response has been beyond expectation. In May, over 5,000 votes were cast by Urban Tulsa readers to determine the top 5 nominees in 27 categories. Between June 11 and July 17 the public is encouraged to vote for their favorite artists on this custom online voting system created by Emergent Music LLC/FlyFi. The first annual Absolute Best Music Awards ceremony will debut at the historic Cain’s Ballroom on Saturday, August 8.
